SMALL CHURCH DISCOUNT
September 30, 2009
We understand that the church video industry has a pricing structure that prohibits some smaller churches from using such media. With that in mind, we’ve created the following pricing scale to help.
Under 30 Adults*: Receive a 50% discount.
Between 30-50 Adults*: Receive a 35% discount.
Between 50-75*: Receive a 20% discount.
Do You Qualify?
This sliding scale is not automatic. The qualifying factors are listed below:
1.There is an assumption that, without this discount, you could literally not afford to purchase our media. This is NOT simply a way to save your church money. This is a way to get media into your hands that you would otherwise be unable to purchase.
2.When your church grows beyond the need for a discount, we ask that you contact us, and stop using the discount immediately.
3.This must be used ONLY in your church. Filmmakers, graphic artists, and web designers do not quality for this discount. If you have any questions about our user license, please read it carefully.
What’s the Next Step?
If you meet the qualifications, simply email us (info@floodgateproductions.com) with the following information:
Church Name
Contact Name:
Email Address:
Best Contact Number:
Number of Adults (average) attending your worship service:
The Coupon Codes last for a period of one year, starting on October 1, and ending on September 30 and is good for purchase of downloadable products only (no shippable products, apparel, one-year subscriptions or website licenses). If you need to renew your code, please contact us in September.
We’ll be in touch.

Inglourious Basterds
September 28, 2009
First things first… Many of you aren’t going to agree with the decision to see this movie. That’s a topic for a different day and one i won’t address in this review.
Inglourious Basterds is a magnificent piece of cinema!
Amazing cinematography… acting that’s second to none… artistic in every sense of the word. It’s a complete, no holds barred assault on the senses. Tarantino breaks all the rules and seemingly writes some of his own… just to break those as well. I mean come on.. if memory serves me correctly… there were maybe two scenes in the first 30 minutes of the film… such great dialogue and execution… Tarantino completely sucks you in.
Not a single performer in this film was a disappointment… that being said… one actor who stood out is Christopher Waltz. And that’s no small accomplishment with such a stand out cast. Superb execution of language after language… Impeccable delivery and timing… I wouldn’t be surprised if an Oscar was in this mans future.
Amongst the great cinematography and superb acting stands some intricately woven together story lines that carry the viewer through the movie. Taking some twist and turns along the way and travel only vaguely close to following actual WWII history… but truly amazing!
I definitely found myself wanting more at the end of the movie. Inglourious Basterds is… in this mans opinion… a solid work of art that deserves an open mind. Don’t miss it!
Meet the Contest Winners
September 21, 2009
After tons of entries, the Floodgate Team has chosen the winners of our “Lean In” Transitional Statement Contest. Each will win a Floodgate DVD Four-Pack with Coffee!
But before we tell you who won, you gotta remember Paul’s admonition to “…rejoice with those who rejoice.” That’s somewhere in the Bible, right?
The winner for the funniest “Lean In” statement is: Stuart Kruse. Stuart won with the statement: “Please stand and join with me as we sing our opening song of response, ‘I Surrender Some.’”
The winner for the best/serious “Lean In” statement is: Latisha Willis. Latisha suggests a great scenario: (Pastor writes name on sticky and places it on his chest) “Hello, my name is (Pastor’s Name), and (in a soft voice) I’ve got GREAT news for you, but you’ve got to lean in a bit to hear it…” We all thought that was awesome, and would want to attend this church.
And at the last minute, we added a Boobie Prize. The winner of this prize gets a dinner with Johnny and Chachi (prize only applicable at Chick-Fil-a, and redeemable on Sundays only). The winner of the Boobie Prize is Rob Thomas – the first contributor in our contest.
And if you didn’t win, here’s some great news… We’re giving you $10 off the purchase of the “Lean In” video, just for giving it your best shot. Check your email (and your spam folder, just in case) for your coupon code. You should have ALREADY received that email (if you haven’t, please contact judy@floodgateproductions.com).
Thanks for everyone who participated. We hope the Kingdom of God is a little less influenced by the main character in the video.
What’s Quenching Your Thirst?
September 18, 2009
Have you ever noticed how we try to quench our thirst with things that are good, but were never designed to actually be thirst-quenching? We invite you to meet Sandy, a guy who’s trying to figure out why his deepest thirst isn’t being quenched. For him, it started with something that seemed good, at first – something that made perfect sense. But he’s starting to wonder if there’s something being offered to him that’s designed to quench the deepest parts of his soul. Check out the video here.
We envision this video being shown as an evangelistic tool, as a sermon setup for a “breaking sinful behavior” topic, and/or at any addiction recovery group in your church. We also include a video with John 4:10 added to the end, just in case you’re teaching about “The Woman at the Well”. We pray it finds a wide variety of uses in God’s Church.
Meet the Interns
September 15, 2009
We’re excited to introduce the Floodgate Interns to the world. Meet Jordan and Jeremy. One of the requirements of being a Floodgate Intern is a first name that starts with the letter “J”. One of the owners (Jason) thought up that rule. The other two owners (Dave and Gary) were voted down.
Jeremy works at a large local church in Fresno. He is on the Jr. High Staff Team, and is responsible for weekly announcement videos. A major part of Jeremy’s internship will be the ongoing development of his weekly announcement reel. You can follow Jeremy on Twitter @jeremywayne.
Jordan is a musician who loves design work. Jordan’s internship will involve his ongoing design development, including: AfterEffects, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and script writing. You can follow Jordan on Twitter @jordanlava.
MotionBacks Volume 1 is Released!
September 10, 2009
We’ve released what is, without a doubt, the best deal we can offer on motion loops. MotionBacks Volume 1 offers TEN NEW MOTION BACKGROUNDS, all in one easy download, for only $20. We’re even offering them in HD for the same price! Take a look at what’s in the download here.
Shouts and Whispers
September 8, 2009
This is a mini-movie that hits close to home for all of us. It’s a mini-movie that actually gives clarity to the competing voices that play out in our heads during most worship services. And what’s the answer to the accusing shouts we hear as we sit there? The only answer is the whisper of God, speaking as a Father to a child. We pray this finds a home in your church.
Contest for New Mini-Movie
September 3, 2009
THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS FINISHED, SO THE COMMENTS HAVE BEEN CLOSED.
We’re really excited about the release of our latest mini-movie “Lean In”. It’s a great video to use as a service starter, but it needs some follow-up once the video is finished. You’ll see what we mean after you watch it. So we’re inviting you to participate in a contest – a contest where two winners will receive a Floodgate DVD Four-Pack. If you’re a teaching pastor, a worship leader, a youth pastor, or a volunteer in the church, you’ve got a great chance to win! Here’s what you need to do:
* View the video here.
* Develop a one-sentence transitional statement that a worship leader or pastor would say VERBALLY to their congregation, after the video is completed. This must be a short, concise sentence. It can be humorous or serious. We’re giving a DVD Four-Pack to TWO WINNERS: One for the most humorous statement, and one for the best serious statement.
* Once you’re sure of the transitional statement, post it as a comment below. LIMIT ONE STATEMENT PER PERSON!!!!
* On September 17, 2009, the Floodgate Team will make their decision for EACH winner. We’ll contact you via email, and we’ll post the winners on our site.
So what are you waiting for? Go watch the video. Think it through. And win!
