Worship: What Is It?

While the emergence of modern worship music has infused the church with life and passion, it also had an adverse effect. It took something that God desires for us to offer 24 hours every day, and reduced it to something that can only happen for 20-30 minutes, one day a week.
The owners of Floodgate Productions are also worship leaders who discuss this daily. So we created a video that poses some difficult questions about worship. It’s called “Worship: What Is It?”, and can be previewed to the right.
Special thanks to Abby who is the actress in the video. Abby not only acts, but also sings on her church’s worship team, and deals with these difficult issues along with the rest of us.

Great video.
Sometimes we’ve used videos without audio and played live music underneath to seamlessly segue into a song. This would be a prime example. Try playing “intro music” under the video and go right into singing “Come Now Is The Time To Worship” or some other song your congregation knows that supports the message that Abby conveys so well. A few songs from Gateway Worship come to mind: “Living For You,” “You You Are God,” and the slower tempo “Every Breath.” Jeremy Camp’s “My Desire” would also be good, though maybe as an offertory. Just make sure you have the talent on stage because most videos (this one included) already have good audio that was created to blend perfectly with the spoken script and imaging. Rehearse with the video and practice your timing. Your music has to sound like it was made to go with the video otherwise it will be distracting and the message will suffer for it. As always, give God your best!
